Website interaction and access to Quick Base

I am wondering if there is an easy way to go from a website to the QuickBase for people to fill out a form. Also, I would like for the people to just be able to access and save the form with out become users. Is this possible?

  • To allow nonusers to access your app, you would need to add the User "Everyone On the Internet". It can be found by clicking on the address book icon to the left of the field where you typically type in the user email when adding new users, then choose Groups.
    • Open address book

    • Select Everyone on the Internet (EOTI)

You must be very careful will allowing EOTI access to your app, so you'll want to also set up a special role with only the specific permissions that the people filling out this form will need.

As an admin you can always test the role using the drop down next to your name in the upper right corner of the screen and selecting "Test this Apps as".
    • Test as another Role

Once you have the role set up and have assigned EOTI to it, you can distribute the link to the app to whomever you need to have fill out the form.

It's also important to note that if these individuals will be adding or editing records they will show up as Anonymous, so you may want to add a field to capture name, if that's important to you.

Thank you so much! I've created the role with only the strict ability to enter and see their own information and tested it with the role. This is so helpful!!!!

  • Is there anything missing in these instructions above that perhaps may be assumed?  Asking because I am trying to do this - allow for an extended group of people to be able to create a request record without having licenses (all internal folks will but we don't want to license this extended group) so I've added Everyone on the Internet, given them a restricted role, and it's not letting a user I'm testing with in - she gets the prompt to request permissions.
  • So are you saying that for the tables involved you have set the role permission to view all records and Add Records.
  • Argh, yes, this is a test app and I'd turned that off and totally forgotten.  So sorry to waste everyone's time here - I promise I try to not ask silly questions but here we are...  Thank you!!!
