When copying an app, how do I carry over the automations?

Hello All,

I have built a great app for my team but we want copies of it for new projects. The key to the ease is the 15 automations that are integrated. When I went to copy the app yesterday the automations didn't come through. Is there any way to have them carry over or copy the automations from one app to another?

As of 2018 (per this thread) it is not a bug, but documented as automations do not copy with an app. Not sure if it has changed since then....seems like it has not.
