Is there a way to add a "Invite New User" button to my dashboard?I want the same button in the picture attached, but I want it on my dashboard instead of on the "users" page. Thanks
I just spent several hours trying to come up with a creative solution to a problem. We want a record where the Date Modified is on or before a specific Date to have a different color, in this case grey.Easy we thought, this should work. - It doesn't. If(ToDate([Date Modified])=ToDate(6/22/21),"#666666","")Tried to add a formula check box field to get an idea what was happening.Check box field namd [Date Formula]:Part(ToText([Date Modified]),1, " ") this works when used in the color formula. Then in the Default report in the Color formula: - kinda seems to work but not really. If([Date Formula],"#666666","")Tried this one and no luckIf(Part(ToText([Date Modified]),1, " ") < "06-22-23","#666666","")I asked ChatGPT and this came out:If([Date Modified] <= ToTimestamp(Date(2021, 6, 23)),true,false)So I was trying my best to convert Date Modified to a Date and failing. Instead by converting the static date I wanted to use as my filter to a Timestamp everything fell into place.
I have a pipeline that successfully uploads a file to Sharepoint (i.e., create a new list item in Sharepoint).I also want to place data into a field/column of that same Sharepoint record, but am failing to make this happen. I've tried a couple different approaches without any success. Any tips on making this happen will be appreciated.I can provide more detailed screenshots if necessary but here are some to start. Thanks in advance.....AaronMethod 1: Method 2:When the error says at least 1 field must be set, and to specify the field to be updated, I can't see where to do that
I use QB to keep track of thousands of articles that I schedule for the e-newsletters my company sends out. Each article is a project. I am constantly updating these projects, like from "Assigned" to "Accepted" or from "Bob" is editing to "Mary" is editing. I have an "Updated" column but I have to change it myself. What I would like is an "update" column that changed the date automatically every time I make a change. That is, no matter which field I change for a project (the title, the author, the assignment date) the update column automatically updates. Is this possible? If so, how? Thanks in advance to any help.
I need to prompt the user for a beginning date and ending date range but I need those dates to be for more than one field. So the report would be something like this. The Beginning and Ending Date would be user prompts.Date received is on or after Beginning Date and Date received is on or before Ending Date orDate Submitted is on or after Beginning Date and Date Submitted is on or before Ending Date. How can I create the custom prompt for Beginning Date and Ending Date, so the user is not prompted to put in dates for both fields. Thanks
Hi allI'm using the Gantt plugin to manage task with short durations (hours). The Gantt plugin allows me to move e resize tasks so the start and end are given as dates and times. But the start and date fields on the Tasks table are Date fields, not DateTime fields.I need to get more detailed info from my tasks, but I don't know were the fractional start ad date info is stored.Lets suppose, for example, a task starting at a given date and time, and ending at a given date and time. If I move the task by a few hours, in a way that it stays on the same dates, and go to the currespondent record on the Tasks table, I see that the "Date modified" field does not change, meaning the record was not updated. If I move (or resize) the task so the start or end date change, the "Date modified" field gets updated. So, in summary, the question is: on which table is the fractional info (time) for tasks start and end is stored on my app? Thanks!Jose
I am leaving Notion for QB. I created an exact copy of my Notion database (it was pretty simple) in QB and exported the Notion data into CSV. I started the import and in the preview screen it looked perfect. But every time I hit "import" I get "Can not update built-in fields values." I can't find any simple solutions to this, just very complex instructions about API, which is a little beyond my skills! Does anyone know of a simple workaround? Thank you!
I need to create a single-table custom email that runs on a schedule (any time during the month 4 months after a date in the record). Each email needs to go to a non-user whose email address is a field in the record, and the text of the email needs to contain some other fields from the record.I'm planning to do this in two steps:1. Create a custom email (open, triggered on a record modification)2. Create a pipeline to run once a month and do the record modification for the appropriate records - once the record is modified, the email will be sent.It seems like this will work but I'm wondering if the pipeline updates would be considered "bulk" updates. Since the recipients are non-users, the email must be specified as "open" - but I know there are issues with "open" emails with "bulk" updates - recipients could receive information that doesn't relate to them.If this could happen, what is another way to approach the requirement?
Is it possible to update a quickbase application via an email? I have a checkbox that needs to be checked and would like the user that gets the email to just open their email and click on the box. thank you
As part of our ongoing fit & finish focus—making the Quickbase experience smoother, clearer, and more consistent—we’re giving Release Notes a fresh home in a dedicated Quickbase app. This isn’t just a new location; it’s a better way to discover what’s new, track what matters to you, and plan ahead with confidence. Starting this fall, Release Notes will be faster to scan, easier to search, and more useful for your day-to-day work. TimelineSeptember 9: We’ll publish Release Notes in both places (our help center and the new Quickbase app). October 7: Release Notes will be available only in the Quickbase app. We’ll share the direct link in your monthly email and in-product, and you can bookmark it for quick access. Why we’re making this change Today’s Release Notes live in our help center and can be tough to navigate and search across. That makes it harder for customers to find what matters to them and for our teams to keep everything consisten
Hello,Full context: We have a staff table that all employees have access to, but only to view their own information. We also have a PTO table with a calendar report that the team has access to, but because the permissions for the Staff table is set to "when user is 'User'" they are unable to see any of the related names for the PTO records (PTO table is a child table of Staff table). Is there a way, or formula, to keep the same level of privacy on the Staff table whilst allowing the team to see just the related staff name for the PTO Records? Thanks!
Hi Community,In Quickbase, we can set up subscriptions to send reports via email on a regular schedule. Is there a similar way to automatically send reports to Microsoft Teams on a schedule using Pipelines?I know it’s possible to send notifications to a Teams chat, but I’m specifically looking for a way to send reports regularly.
Good afternoon,I've created a pipeline that searches Table A for criteria and if it matches it will copy a User List field from Table B to another User List field in Table A. Both User Lists fields could have multiple Users selected when the pipeline runs. My first attempt wiped out any information already listed in Table A's field with the information copied from Table B, but it listed all Users that were selected. When trying to figure out how to keep the information in Table A's field while adding the information from Table B, I then found the community thread which is similar to what I'm trying to do: https://community.quickbase.com/discussions/getting-started/using-multi-select-field-in-pipelines/18991 However, when I enter {{table B User List field}} ; {{table A User List Field}} Table A's information remains, but the new information copied are placeholders rather than the User name. So it looks like When I've
I'm working with a rich text button. The button is on a parent record. The user clicks the button, the parent is saved, and then a popup opens to add a child record. When I add the savebeforenavigating class, the button stops opening the window in a popup and instead opens in a new tab.Is it possible to include both classes in the same formula?var number rid = [Record ID#];var text url = URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_CHILDREN] & "?a=nwr" & "&_fid_10=" & URLEncode($rid) & "&ifv=1" & "&hs=1";var text color = "#228B22";var text txtcolor = "White";"<a class='SaveBeforeNavigating' & \"OpenAsPopup\" data-height=\"800\" data-width=\"1000\" data-refresh=\"true\" " & "style=\"text-decoration: none; text-align: center; background:" & $color & "; color: " & $txtcolor & "; border-radius: 5px; margin: 2px; padding: 5px 5px; width: 100px; display: inline-block; font: 14px/ 'Calibri', 'Segoe UI', sans-serif; text-shadow: none;\
Have you ever wanted to be able to create a custom numbering sequence for records in your app (see [PO Number])? Common use cases where this comes up include creating purchase orders, invoices, tasks, budgets, etc. Quickbase has had a variety of complex and multi-step solutions to create these in the past (some combination of summary fields, lookup fields, snapshot fields, and Pipelines), but with formula queries, we are able to drastically simplify the process. In the article below we talk about how you can use formula queries to implement a system of your own. Use Case: Jesse is responsible for managing inventory for a wholesaler at one of their large warehouses. Jesse does a weekly audit of the on-hand quantity of the different items they sell, and she is responsible for placing purchase orders to restock. The company has a specific numbering process for their POs; each PO should be sequential based on the number of POs for that year for that vendor. For example, Jesse has already p
I'm looking for help/suggestions on simplifying a child table. The attachment is how it currently displays on the parent table. Is there a way to display the lines that are checked Task Completed in a second table below this one? I still want to be able see all the task lines though.
We get a lot of questions about surprising behavior when numbers have digits after the decimal point. Sometimes numbers don't look right, sometimes they don't seem to behave right mathematically. Often someone thinks they've found a bug, and it's difficult to explain how the behavior is normal and that nearly all computer software shares the same behavior. As a software QA guy with a mathematics background (see my introduction in the second paragraph of my first Quickbase community post), I find this kind of question particularly interesting. Let me explain a little bit about how computers represent numbers and do math. Then I'll show a few common questions that people ask and walk through explanations - and workarounds, where possible. A quick note: most of the examples discussed are around formulas. That is just because they are usually easier to illustrate with. The same caveats and information applies to any part of Quickbase where you are comparing numbers. This includes, but is n
Issue with native Save and Keep Working button.I have a form, on which are several fields that a user completes, the results of which feed into several GetFieldValues fields. These retrieves prices from another table based on the selections made. That part works fine, but then there are some additional calculations made using that price and other fields on the form, but the price isn't "retrieved" until the record is saved. Thus, the need for the Save and Keep Working option. But that button doesn't behave in an expected way.So I'm struggling to determine the cause within my environment when using the native Save and Keep Working button. First: after the first time this button is selected, the Save and New option no longer appears. And Second: sometimes when using this option, and just Save, the form saves but a new empty form is presented. Is there a better/different way I could save and continue mid-form data entry, so that my price retrievals occur, but allow the user to still have t
Is anyone using an expense management for users in the field to them import into QuickBase? We track expenses (expense table) to our projects. We are looking at apps like Expensify, Concur, Navan (or similar app) to capture receipts and data (most have an smartscan feature). We are looking to see if any app has a better connection to export data to QuickBase/Pipeline rather then manually sending the data over.
Hi all, hoping someone may be able to assist.Am using a pipeline to remove attachments using the format of 'fid_14=&delfile_fid_14=1'The result of this is that whilst the attachment looks to be removed from the form, it still is actually being stored (app file manager shows the attachments still exist).Has anyone else encountered this or possibly have a solution ?Cheers in advance.
I have created a table report by grouping the data based on a specific field. I would like to add totals and averages for a few of the columns in each group. How can I do that?

I would like to update my currently active notification’s permission type from Recipient to Open. Is there a way to do this without creating a new notification from scratch? Thanks in Advance!
What is the best way to verify that an email was sent using the Outlook channel's Send an Email step? I would like to update a record's status to Sent after I've verified that it's associated email has been. I don't see a way to reference the email's status or id after the Send Email step.I have tried a few things - 1. After sending the email, use the Search Emails step to find the email in the Sent folder. I create a secret key, put it in the email's body, but can't get this to work. I receive only the error: Validation error: {'query': 'required field'}. 2. We have the Sent folder already set up as a Connected table. I could force the table to refresh and then look it up there. There could be several emails being sent within the pipeline run, and I would have to do this in a loop which isn't ideal.Any other ideas on how to verify an email has been sent using the Outlook Send an Email step?
Hello Qrew! Thank you to all who were able to attend Wednesday’s Qrew Meetup. Here’s what we discussed: The New Quickbase University (QBU) Experience: TracyPrentiss and OsaEdebiri briefly walked though of the new Quickbase University experience. Powered by Brainstorm, they showcased the ability to set up private learning portals (which are free and customizable), and how you can create workflows with branching for a more engaged learning experience. J.J. Keller and Associates Mentorship Program: Fun fact – AnneRommelfanger and LauraLinssen introduced Brainstorm to Quickbase and ran their mentorship program which blended Quickbase University content with their own company governance training. This successful program grew from relying on a few central builders to having a trained builder in each business unit, enabling faster app changes and greater ownership. Amazing results! And now you can do the same at your organization! Four Tips to ge
