As a Customer Success Manager for Strategic and Enterprise accounts, I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing the launch of two successful company Qrews under AT&T’s Brian Hinshaw and MYR Group’s Jesse Guardado. Update: This blog was initially published ahead of our open beta in May. On October 1st, new (or sidebar) navigation will become the default Quickbase experience. To help guide the transition, if your users tried new navigation during the open beta and reverted to legacy navigation, we will respect their current settings. Your team will still have the option to use to legacy (or top) navigation through the end of 2025, but doing so will require action from both admins and individual end users. Access the End User Guide for More Details > Quickbase is the world’s first platform for dynamic work management. We are continually improving the platform and adding new capabilities, so it is easier than ever for you to see, connect, and control your most complex processes. Hey Everyone! With July 1st being the midway point of the year, I've put together a survey for us to look ahead into the back half of 2024 and learn from all of you what you want to see more of from now through the end of the year. What new features are you looking to see more of from other Qrew members? Tell us in the survey. I'm also more holistically wanting to learn how impactful this community forum is, how we can improve in areas like product feedback and listening to our community. At the end of the year, I'll look to do a similar survey and evaluate how we fared against the feedback. Here's the survey. All participants will be entered into a raffle to get a $100 coupon code to our Swag Store. In the event you are located outside the US, I'll find a gift card of the same value for you to use. Cheers!

Hey all! My name is Kaelie (they/them) and I run our Qrew Champions customer advocacy program. I’m so excited to get to geek about all things Quickbase here with the Qrew and share more about what’s going on in the Qrew Champions. What are our Qrew Champions up to? Allan Heaps, Database Designer and Analyst at Boise State University, recently spoke at a Customer Network meeting and starred as a guest speaker at the “Inherited App” Quickbase webinar about his work at Boise State University Wes McAda, Senior Software Developer at Versar Inc, and Jessica Rugg, Technical Specialist at Benesch, recently shared their Quickbase expertise in a blog post, “Navigating Software Changes With Ease: Tips From Quickbase Experts.” Mark Lind, Systems Analyst at CCI Systems, penned his own blog post about using Quickbase for project management, “How CCI Systems Manages Complex Projects and Critical Information.” What’s new and upcoming?
Did you know Quickbase offered Certifications? You didn't? Well, Certification is real. And it's a great way to prove your Quickbase knowledge and establish yourself as a go-to builder within your organization. Moving forward, here in The Qrew, your profile will show which Certifications you have passed. It may take us (read: Ben) some time to get everyone's profile up to date, but we now have the badges for each of the four certification exams we have below. Each month, I'll have a blog post with the previous month's certification recipients. We will shower you with recognition! As a reminder/overview, Quickbase offers the following four certification exams: App Foundations - this is a new exam, perfect for new builders looking to ensure they understand the fundamentals of planning, building, designing, and maintaining simple Quickbase applications. App Builder - Similar to the App Foundations exam, but questions here are more geared towards Buildi
TLDR: There's a Discord server for Quickbase Qrew members. It's run by Quickbase Qrew Members, not by Quickbase. It is a true Community-owned space. Quickbase employees participate as members of this community. Members of this space are online daily interacting with each other, helping with formulas, pipelines, and other product related questions. Quickbase Qrew Members can join here. As Community Manager here at Quickbase, I want to make every effort to actually be in the Community as much as I can be. That's not easy. There are a lot of you. There is only one of me. Part of the way we want to build more ways to engage with each other is to allow for more in person events via Qrew Groups. I'm excited to see efforts in Portland, Raleigh/Durham, and Boston coming along, and would expect to see a few more cities starting up soon as well. But what about the rest of the time when there are no in person gatherings to attend? That's a lot of time. How can the Q

The below blog was authored by Product Marketing Manager MichelleHendley Last October, we introduced our first AI-powered feature, AI Smart Builder, to you. With Smart Builder, anyone can generate a custom application just by telling Quickbase AI about the problem you’re trying to solve. In the past nine months, thousands of you have built applications covering everything from recruiting to installation project management. This powerful feature goes a long way towards our belief that AI can help make your work management feel more manageable – and to that end, we’re thrilled to announce that Smart Builder has now gotten even smarter. An even better App Builder Sometimes it’s hard to define what good looks like unless you’ve seen it. Thanks to a improvements in the feature, Smart Builder now knows what a good app looks like. Welcome to the new Qrew Discussions! Here's a tour of the recent changes to our community platform. The goal is to make this as smooth a transition as possible, and by the end of this blog, you'll know what's changed, what's stayed the same, and how to make the most of your experience on this site. What's Stayed the Same? A lot. This is still designed to be a place where people can ask questions and receive answers. "Quickbase Discussions" remains the main Forum, go there for all Quickbase questions. Every thread from before should be searchable, we copied over all posts, all file attachments. Your login process should be the exact same. Only those with an email address tied to a Quickbase account can login to this website. Since we use Single Sign-On, the fastest way to access Qrew Discussions is to already be signed into your Quickbase account first. What Changed? We have a new Ranking system. Every member of this community has a Rank in their Profile. Users can increa
NOTE: THIS BLOG WAS WRITTEN by BrianCafferelli , BUT TECHNICAL CHALLENGES ARE PREVENTING BRIAN FROM PUBLISHING. Quickbase is built for enterprise scale. That’s why a majority of the Fortune 100 leverages our platform to manage their complex processes and eliminate Gray Work. Success using a no-code platform like ours requires an approach to governance that enables business and IT to collaborate. Business users need to be able to innovate fast enough to stay ahead of competitors, while IT needs visibility and control to ensure compliance with corporate policies. That’s why one vital part of Quickbase is our Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) capability. This is a set of tools that helps you to plan, build, test, deploy, and update your apps. Our sandbox feature is one example of this. However, we have heard feedback from many of you that you need more control over how your apps are managed, as well as your pipelines. That’s why we are excited to announc
Hi there! I'm Ben. I'm the Community Manager for The Qrew. In March 2023, having no previous experience in Community Management, I changed roles here at Quickbase, moving from Customer Success. Why did I do this? I had no direct passion for Community Management overall. It wasn't some calling. What I did have was passion for this community, which since Empower 2023 we have called The Qrew. This community is different. It's unique. It's full of talented Quickbase Subject Matter Experts who come from all different types of backgrounds. Men and women. From full stack developers all the way down to people who google how to do things in Excel (me). We're all in The Qrew. Here's what you'll find. What you will find in The Qrew is connection. You are not on an island as a Quickbase builder/admin, even if you are the only person at your company who uses Quickbase. The Qrew is where you can connect with others, where you can see how others are using this platform to cu
Hi Everyone, here's a summary of our Ranking system, a list of the rankings, and how you can rise in the rankings here in Qrew Discussions. First, what's our Ranking System? Where can I find my ranking? The Ranking System is designed to provide each member of Qrew Discussions with a rank that correlates to their level of engagement with The Qrew. As you rise in the rankings, you unlock new permissions for how you can engage with this community. As we have rankings already existing in the Qrew Champions program, Qrew Discussions will now use the same system and hierarchy (Member > Captain > Chief > Champion). To add more fun, we've introduced more rankings in between these ranks just in Qrew Discussions to show your progress in reaching a new permission unlock. You can find your ranking by going to your avatar in the top right of your screen and selecting "Profile". What are the rankings? What ranks higher than others? How can I rise in the rankings? See below for a

The Quickbase Exchange gives you a head start when building a new app. It offers a range of pre-built app templates for you to explore. And if you find that one you like, you can use it as a starting point and customize it for your unique business needs. In June 2023, we released the beta version of our new exchange, which we re-built from the ground up and expanded to include a broader range of builder resources. On March 24, 2024, the new exchange will reach general availability and we will be shutting down the legacy exchange at that time. What this change means for you For your app template needs, you can now leverage our new exchange. It provides a streamlined user experience, focusing on a smaller set of templates which have been updated with all our newer UI features such as forms and dashboards. If there’s an app which is listed on the legacy exchange but not listed on the new exchange, you can make your own copy of it before March 24. Or, if you are looking for
NOTE: Since we initially published this article, we have updated the date when automations will no longer be editable. The new date is June 30, 2025. Quickbase makes it easy to reduce repetitive tasks and orchestrate workflows, uniting disconnected data onto one platform. With Pipelines, business users can manage both automations and integrations in one place. And we have been hard at work enhancing our Pipelines capability based on your feedback. Now, as we continue to look toward the future, we must also evaluate the role of older and less flexible features like Quickbase Automations. Support for the Automations feature ended in June 2022, and editing existing automations will be locked on June 30, 2025. What this change means for you Beginning in June 2022, creating new automations was locked, however existing automations continued to run and could be edited at any time. Beginning June 30, 2025, automations you have already built will continue to run. However, you will n
