We love hearing from you. That’s what Delightful Pipelines Day is all about: building Pipelines with you, not just for you.

Great work should feel great to make, and we’re making it better together.

Here's what we're shipping this time.

Direct SharePoint URL entry

tweaked by byordanov

The SharePoint channel's site picker relies on Microsoft's API for the list of sites you can connect to, and that API doesn't always return every site you actually have access to. If your site was missing from that list, there was no way to connect it, no search, no workaround, it just wasn't reachable.

You can now paste the site's URL directly. We resolve it against your own permissions, and once it's verified, it's saved so the site shows up normally in your picker from then on, no re-entering it every time. Available September 24.

Streamlined editing for the pipelines description on My Pipelines page

smoothed out by rmilushev-qb

Editing a pipeline's description used to be hidden. It meant opening the full side panel, then clicking into the description field before you could even start typing.

The grid doesn't have room to edit a description well, so we didn't try to force it there. Now with a single click, editing from the My Pipelines page opens the side panel with the description field already focused, so you can start typing right away instead of hunting for it first.

Hover to reveal the pencil icon; select it to open the side panel with the description focused.

Fixed field order in the Copy Records step

polished by sgrueva

Selecting source fields before choosing a destination table in the Copy Records step could trigger a confusing "Please select a table" error, because the step tried to build field mappings before both tables were set.

Fields are now ordered Source Table, then Destination Table, then everything else, so the step only asks for mappings once it actually has what it needs.

Source Table and Destination Table now come first, so mappings are only requested once both are set.

A few other things we fixed

  • Delete confirmation: Deleting a connected account now shows a clear success or failure popup instead of leaving you guessing.
  • Empty filters: You can delete an empty filter without a confirmation prompt, and adding one no longer blocks the pipeline from running until you've actually filled it in.
  • Dropdown auto-close: Selecting an app or table in a Quickbase step using the keyboard now closes the dropdown automatically instead of leaving it open.
  • Stop messaging: Stopping a pipeline now shows "Your pipeline is stopping. Depending on its complexity and logic, this can take several minutes" with a learn more link to a new help article instead of a message that looked like something had broken.

That's August

If there's something in Pipelines that makes you think, "There has to be a better way," let us know in the product Feedback, or add a comment below. Those are often the best kinds of improvements to work on.

See you next month.
