1999 felt like an exciting time. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time swept the Game of the Year awards. Everyone was Livin La Vida Loca. It’s also when Quickbase first hit the scene.
A lot has changed since then, especially when it comes to technology. Over time, we’ve improved and reimagined the visual look and feel of the Quickbase platform. Starting on December 14th, you’ll notice that we’ve updated the Quickbase interface once more. All of the same functionality and layout is staying the same, but with a fresh coat of paint.
What’s New
These visual updates include new colors, fonts, and icons across various pages. This new look should feel familiar, since we have focused on making our app builder pages more consistent with the rest of the product. We’re talking about blue buttons, softer colors, and a more sleek and elegant appearance overall.
For example, here is your new login page:
Here you can see the new settings icons and table headers:
And here is our new dialogue for sharing an app with new users:
We’ve refreshed many system emails, such as the app invite email:
We’ve also replaced the Exit Settings link with a left-pointing arrow:
CSS Classes
We are aware that some Quickbase apps leverage our built-in CSS classes to do custom button styling. While this has never been an official feature, we definitely understand that it's useful. One drawback to this approach is that the Quickbase CSS might change without notice. If you are using such buttons, they will be upgraded to the new styles automatically. This should assist your apps' end users since it keeps your custom buttons consistent with the built-in buttons in the Quickbase UI.
However, if you need to continue using the legacy button styles, you can do so by using these new CSS classes:
-
- VibrantLegacy Alert
- VibrantLegacy Danger
- VibrantLegacy Primary
- VibrantLegacy Snowy
- VibrantLegacy Success
Feedback
As we always invite you to do, please open a support case if you have any questions about these changes or need to report a bug. You can do this while logged into Quickbase, by clicking the ? at the top of the page, and then clicking Open new support case.
