Intro:
Hi! I’m Kojo Acquaah (he/him), Co-Founder of Levery. I’m originally from the Boston area, but have been living in Dallas, TX for the past 2 years. I’ve been using Quickbase since 2021.
Quickbase Beginnings:
How did you first discover Quickbase?
I stumbled upon Quickbase when I was asked to cover for a colleague going on leave.
What was the first thing you ever built in Quickbase?
I was tasked with digitizing our Integrated Lean Six Sigma program we were using to assess and score warehouse, delivery, and management processes. Translating that complex methodology into a single, auditable Quickbase solution that helped to eliminate waste and enable continuous improvement was a turning point. It showed me how the platform could convert scattered chaos into an operational orchestra.
When did you realize you were hooked on Quickbase?
I knew I was hooked when I started pulling fragmented processes housed in spreadsheets, SharePoint docs, and other systems into Quickbase and began relating datasets so the whole became exponentially more valuable than the parts. Seeing that connective architecture unlock real-time insight and operational leverage (and regularly falling into a flow state, building for hours without noticing) made it click for me.
Building & Impact:
What's your favorite app aspect to build out in Quickbase?
I love designing, building, and improving the end-to-end user experience. I’ll jump on any opportunity to minimize clicks, remove friction, and lower cognitive load for end users, because I love it when people actually want to use the apps I make.
What’s a build or project you’re most proud of?
I built an app focused on truck driver risk which connected to in-cab cameras. Based on driver behaviors identified by the camera system, the Quickbase app automatically assigns related training modules that drivers are required to complete. During the first full year, we saw an impressive 39% reduction in preventable truck crashes and a 27% reduction in involuntary terminations which was a direct result of the improved process.
If you were a QB superhero, what would your special power be?
My special power would be magically converting others into proficient Citizen Developers.
The Qrew Experience
What’s your favorite part of Qrew Meetups or the community?
My favorite part about the community is how helpful everyone is. There are no stupid questions and everyone is willing to share their unique methods to get to a solution.
Why should others join or attend Qrew Meetups?
Join the Qrew to learn and share your knowledge with others.
If you could describe the Qrew in three words, what would they be?
Curious, Innovative, and Collaborative.
Beyond the Keyboard:
What do you like to do when you’re not building in Quickbase?Exploring a new city, playing pickleball, or learning a new skill.
What’s your go-to focus or creativity booster?
I like listening to music and podcasts, going for a walk, or going for a random drive.
How do you like to unwind after a full day of Quickbasing?
After work, I love taking walks with my girlfriend on the Katy Trail in Dallas. Depending on how “full” the day was, we may stop for an adult beverage along the way.
How can people connect with you?
