As you might have noticed, there were a bunch of small things we’ve added in Pipelines over the last year. We tried something simple: one day every month dedicated purely to improving usability. No splashy launches - just a steady drumbeat of small, high-impact fixes and polish that make building and maintaining Pipelines faster and clearer.

What is “Delightful Pipelines Day”?

Once a month, one of our our Pipelines teams pauses roadmap work to ship bitesize improvements aimed at removing friction: clearer labels and messages, better navigation, smarter defaults, and friendlier states. Many of these come straight from your comments and feedback in various channels.

The rule is that it should be no more than a day's work.

In just a year we’ve delivered over 50 separate improvements.

Below are the top improvements we shipped this past year - each one small on its own, but together they add up to a meaningfully smoother experience.

Why we’re doing this

Big features are important - but most of your day is spent in the details. When those details feel intuitive, everything else gets easier: onboarding teammates, maintaining flows, and explaining outcomes to stakeholders. Delightful Pipelines Day is our way of showing consistent commitment to that day to day polish.

The improvements

1) Accounts Page Improvements

What changed: Added additional information for each connection.
Why it matters: Improved accounts management.

2) Show “Refresh schema” in step

What changed: A visible refresh action for the specific step.
Why it matters: New or renamed fields appear promptly - keep building without switching context. Stop waiting for the schema in all steps to refresh.

3) Collapse all steps

What changed: One control to collapse the full pipeline.
Why it matters: Cuts scrolling in large automations; find the area you care about quickly.

4) Expand multiple sections within a step

What changed: Open more than one section at the same time.
Why it matters: Compare settings easily without constant opening/closing.

5) “Go to step” from a chosen target

What changed: A direct “Go to step” option wherever you pick a target.
Why it matters: Jump right to the destination step and keep your mental flow.

6) Quick Reference Widget: flexible size

What changed: The Quick Reference Widget can be resized.
Why it matters: Fit the reference to your workspace - more info when you need it, less clutter when you don’t.

7) Activity Log: show step index and go to pipeline

What changed: Each log line now includes the step’s index and a direct link to the pipeline.
Why it matters: Faster troubleshooting.

8) Edit pipeline name on the dashboard

What changed: Inline edit right from the dashboard.
Why it matters: Rename pipelines without diving into details - tidier org in seconds.

9) Notification when a pipeline is turned off during edit

What changed: Clear, timely notice if an edit turns the pipeline off.
Why it matters: Prevents surprises - know immediately when execution is paused.

10) Edit step name and note

What changed: Editing the name or notes of a step no longer turns the pipeline off.
Why it matters: Confidence to document and refactor without unintended downtime.

11) Advanced search

What changed: Writing "/" in a step enables searching by whole phrases.
Why it matters: Easier searching for long names that include spaces.

12) New onboarding page when opening Pipelines

What changed: A friendlier, guided starting point.
Why it matters: Easier first time success and faster ramp for new teammates.
