Adding Multiple Child Records with CB in Parent and Lookups in Child

Hi all: (edit for more clarity)I would like automatically add between 1 and 9 new records to a child table when a modification has been made to the parent record using 1-9 check box fields.I tried to do this with automations and with a rich text field button with some code in it.  The challenge is that the fields that need selecting on the child table are lookups from another table.  I can't "populate" the child "lookup fields" either with the automation or with my rich text button on my parent table.  Couldn't get anything to generate but "blank" child records.I am sure this is a simple one for folks out there and I am missing something obvious.Please and thank you ------------------------------Melissa Freel------------------------------

I am unclear what your question is. Are you saying you would like to have a formula URL button that would create between one and nine child records.

you say this:
I switched to a rich text formula field and developed a really pretty button that also creates child records.

What is not working?
