Automation Action to add Related Parent to Child Record

Question

I have an automation that adds a parent record (Courses) when a child record (Request for New Course) has a status = Completed.
The automation triggers and creates the Parent (Course) record, but am looking for how to set up a 2nd action to tie the Related Parent (Course) back to the Child (Request). This will allow the embedded requests to populate on the Parent record. I tried the following, but it does not add the Related Course to the Request.

np,When you write out the Parent record also make a field to hold the [Record ID# of the triggering child record] and of course populate it in Automation #1.  Then in Automaton #2 trigger when a Parent record is added and the field [Record ID# of the triggering child record] is populated to edit child record where the [Record ID#] matches that of [Record ID# of the triggering child record] and populate the Record ID# of the Trigger record into the [Related Parent] field.------------------------------Mark Shnier (YQC)Quick Base Solution ProviderYour Quick Base Coachhttp://QuickBaseCoach.commark.shnier@gmail.com------------------------------
