Hi,

Is there a way for my app settings to automatically default to 'open in the same page' when editing a report? I know how to change the setting within the field itself but not when editing a report record. This ends up with a host of tabs open in my browser vs. staying within the project record itself.

I find this is particularly a problem on dashboards, while buttons give a clear option to open in the same tab or a new one, reports do not give that option, anytime you drill into a report or gauge it opens a new tab.

There isn't an app setting that forces every report drill-in to open in the same tab.

For Report Link fields (the ones that open related records from a form or report), open the field properties and under Link behavior leave "Open link in a new browser window" unchecked. That keeps those links in the same page.

If the records are on an embedded report on a form and you want people to stay on the parent, turn on Open record in subform in the report component's Advanced options. That opens the child over the form instead of navigating away.

What Mark ran into on dashboards is different — drilling from a report or gauge widget into a new tab isn't controlled by that Report Link checkbox, and there isn't a global "same tab" toggle for it. Formula - URL buttons are the ones that give you an explicit same-tab / new-window choice.
