field ??? is required error

Question

When i select an option from a multi-choice text field and i go to save the file, the "field ??? is required" error appears.  I have combed through each field and rule and removed all requirements by either disabling the rule or removing the requirement.  The error still occurs.  It doesn't do this for all the selections in the multi-choice field, only certain ones.  However, if i save it under a selection that doesn't give me the error, edit the file, and then select the option that gives me the error previously, i am able to save it no problems. i did check the forum for this and only found one post and tried what it said that it could be a possible hidden field or rule that is required.  Hence why i removed or disabled anything that had a requirement.  Any help will be appreciated as i am completely out of ideas at this point.  At this point i think it is a corruption within this field or form.

Go to your field list in the table, and scroll down looking for those with a red asterisk against them. This means that the field is required in the table when adding records. Even if those fields are not on the form; or they are and you "uncheck" the required box in the form layout; the default setting aof the field will overwrite any changes you make on the form layout. Uncheck the required box in your field; and then try to save your record again.
