Is there a way to gray out or remove a field that does not have any content associated with the record? I have the Orientation which may be blank depending on the previous drop down picked.

+24You can put in a Dynamic form rule to decide when to show or hide the field. Look for the tab on Form Properties called Dynamic Form Rules. Often you have two Actions on the Rule like
when some conditions are true
show [field 1]
require [ field 1]
