How to add an option number to a Proposal

Question

We make custom signs, and very often our customers want to see options of the same proposal. Right now each option is a different Proposal Number, but I want to be able to create options with the same base proposal number. For example, proposal 12345 is the original, then they ask for 2 options, and they would be labeled 12345-1 & 12345-2.

Right now I have the proposal numbers auto-populating from the record ID field, and I'd like to keep that, but also want to be able to add the options.

Allison, people often use relationships to handle this type of function. You can create an Options table and create a relationship so that one Proposal has many Options.
