The Dallas Qrew launched on Thursday, March 26th at the Workbox Co-working space at American Airlines Arena! We had a great turnout from the Dallas County Qrew, thank you to Stephanie and the team for all attending and bringing your energy to the meetup. We'll have Kat demonstrating what she learned from Taylor's performance enhancer workflow at the April meetup. Unfortunately I had to depart early to account for the long TSA lines so I missed the post meetup eats and drinks. Next meetup will be the same place, same time, Thursday April 23rd at 3pm. Tell your friends! Let's grow this Qrew and make it awesome!
We have a URL button that uses API_editrecord to check mark the completed box on a record. We have an email notification that is triggered when a new record is added to the table. When we reply to the email notification, just within our company emails, I noticed that the reply is triggering the URL button. Does anyone know why this is happening? I've removed the rich text button from the email notification but still trying to figure out why replying to an email acts like clicking a button.
I have Fastfield and Quickbase. I can have a completed FF inspection form show up in the QB table but if I click the eye icon in the table, a blank screen appears. How do I view the completed inspection form in QB if I click the eye instead of a blank screen. The purpose of wanting this... I want my team to be able to view completed inspections in a more user friendly way than using the FF app or Dropbox. They can filter out inspections in an easier way doing things this way (filter by account, account manager, or any data on the completed inspection).
I have a page (not a dashboard) we are using as a homepage for our app and it has just come up that we would like to display a particular report from one of our other apps. I know this is a simple ask to do with a dashboard, but I'm not sure if there's a good way to do it on just a regular page.I am considering rebuilding the page as an actual dashboard at some point, but that is a bigger project and I figured I would ask here in case anyone knows of an easy way to do this in the meantime.I have tinkered around with creating a dashboard showing just my desired report in the source app, then embedding web page in my destination page, but that never seem to work. I also tried creating a code page in my source app and populating it with the iframe embed code QB generates for you when you select the Share icon on a dashboard...<head></head> <body> <iframe width="800" height="500" src="[my app string]?a=showpage&pageIdV2=24b11780-3e68-4fb7-ac1e-c25237440095&em
Hello QB Experts,Iโm a Quickbase user, and Iโve noticed that both Quickbase and Pipelines offer somewhat limited programming capabilities.Iโm wondering if itโs possible to use Quickbase primarily as a database system (and visualization/application), where I:Export data using PipelinesProcess and analyze the data externally using languages like Python or JavaScript (e.g., using Pandas, NumPy, etc.) with complex programming. Then write the processed data back into Quickbase as records via Pipelines in near real-timeIf this approach is feasible:What platforms or tools would you recommend for handling the external processing? What skills or knowledge should I focus on to implement this effectively? Are there any example apps, tutorials, or Quickbase resources that demonstrate a similar workflow for learning and practice? Thanks in advance!
Curious if there's a better way to do this. Here's an example. I have a table with tens of thousands of records, and each record has a "Date of Work" field that is pulled from a related record. If I want to search for records with that specific "Date of Work", it searches the entire table. Like it pulls in every record and then tries to filter instead of doing a search based on the filter. So, I search for a date where there should be 400 records, I get a message that it found 400 records hundreds of times. If I change it to also search for a Created Date after a certain date to limit the search even more, it only searches the batch after the created date. So in this case I get that message 40 times instead of 100s of times. This seems incredibly inefficient and makes the pipeline take way longer than it needs to. Is there any way to force the search to run against the table and just pull in the results, not a huge batch and then filter from there? I suppose I could manually set up
I had a regular text field. When the text was long, it automatically wrapped. It was a plain text field. I loved that! I created a new table with the exact same table layout--but it no longer wraps! I can extend the field to see it all--but then it's awkwardly long. Or, I reduce the column width and it's cut off. Has QB eliminated the wrap feature for new tables?
Hi folks. I am trying to get an advanced filter to work in a pipeline so that I don't have to enter all 81 combinations in.I don't speak Jinja (yet), so I used AI to help me code this. It looks good to me, but when we ran a test, the pipeline did not trigger. I assume it has to do with the way which the Jinja is written. Can anyone help me understand what I did wrong, here? Here is the offending code. It's also been tried without the various cleanup filters on the fields (trim, float, string). All string values for these fields come from pre-defined lists, and the two hours fields are numerics. I think the problem has to be either the syntax or references; I don't think the actual logic is bad.{{(a.Req_Status|string|trim) == 'Submitted'and (a.Requested_Hours|float) < (a.Provider_Expected_Hours|float)and (a.Approv_Mgr1_Response|string|trim) in ['Approved', 'Not Available', 'Not Required']and (a.Approv_Mgr2_Response|string|trim) in ['Approved', 'Not Available', 'Not Required']and (a.App
Ok... loving the new form builder BUT.... I can't see how to make an embedded report editable. Basically, what's the new version of this: Is this possible? ------------------------------Matt Stephens------------------------------
Hello, This is my first time reaching out for some help on hear so apologies if this is a bit long. I have a pipeline set up in quickbase to stamp an unqiue PO Number to a purchase order after final approval occurs. The PO numbers are set up as [Location Code]-[Order Department]-Date Approved in YYYYMMDD format-[Occurrence]For each order approved in the same day with the same Location Code and Department the occurrence will increment by 1. Right now the pipeline stamps the first PO of a given location/department/day correctly with an occurrence of 1. My trouble is getting the search step (d) to find the previous matching POs from that day, lookup the latest ones occurence #, and add 1 to it. I have copied below the filter I put on my search step (d). This references the info from step c which is a lookup of the current PO that needs stamped.[Location Code] (Field 25) is type Formula - Text[Order Department] (Field 21) is type text but is a lookup field[Ap Date Approved] (Field 16
I am working on a quickbase where people will go and rate thier competence on about 75 different items on a 0-5 scale. i want to be able to create a report where i can select one of these items from a dropdown list and display the people who are rated 5. I made a table with the label and column ID for all the fields that i want to display. Is it possible to write a formula query that will return the list of names for anyone that meets the criteria, using the reference id on each row to point to the coulmn on the rating table?
Hello, I would like to add a save and keep working button in the middle of my form. This would be used for new records that have yet to be saved before. Is that possible and how can I do it? I can get it to work for existing records but not new ones that haven't been saved yet.
I am trying to pull out a record ID # from an email subject or email body.I want:Input - Re: 4793 - New Ticket -...Output - 4793OrInput - Should be handled by: MaintenanceRecipients: MaintenanceTicket #: 4793Asset ID: empty Output - 4793 How can I accomplish this with jinja in a pipeline?
I have a rich text button for the user to click to make a quick edit, which opens a popup window that leverages a code page to close automatically when saved (following the "CloseWindow.html" pattern illustrated here).I am attempting to also hide the normal qb UI in the popup window utilizing an ifv parameter, but when I do this the window no longer closes automatically. My base url is in a field [Edit User Alert]:URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=er&rid=" & URLEncode([Record ID#]) & "&dfid=11" & "&z=" & Rurl()My rich text button adds the ifv (currently commented out) and NextURL parameters to the url and sets the class:var text url = "'" & [Edit User Alert] & //"&ifv=10" & "&NextURL=" & URLEncode(URLRoot() & "db/" & AppID() & "?a=dbpage&pageid=5") & "'" ; ... var text class = "'OpenAsPopup' data-height=600 data-width=850 data-refresh=true "; ...The window closes correctly without the ifv parameter
I am working on a new application which will act as our recruiting/employee management system but will not be an HRS platform. This application will handle all the activities that occur before they become an employee. In our IT environment we use security groups to help provision employees into groups that grant them access to data, programs, digital locations, etc. These security groups are rule based and are used to examine an employee's Company, Department, Job Title, and Office Location to determine their group membership.I'm trying to build an interface in QB which would display to the user the various security groups the employee will be placed in based on the selections made in the fields referenced above. An employee will be in at least 1 group but could be in multiple groups and we currently have about 175 different groups configured.I considered creating a single formula field in the Employees table, called Security Group, which would hold all the various security group rule f
I updated a form to the new version, and some users keep getting this error when trying to edit and save. I was able to reproduce it, but I can't find any reason for it.I've carefully gone over all of the form rules and there don't seem to be any conflicts.Has anyone run into this and successfully solved it?
I'm trying to do this the easiest way possible and could use some advise.I have 4 tablesMarket, Activites,Base Agreements, AdmendmentsThe activities table can be related to one or more of each of the other tables but don't have to be related to all of the other tables.I was hoping that I could for example in the Activities table have a field named Market and it be a multi select field. Then on the Market form, I could show all of the Activities that have that market selected. I don't know how to filter that report to only show the activity records that have the market name.I appreciate any assistance.
I have this daily report (see attached) that changes every day. I would like to email this automatically each evening at 4:00 PM to myself, but, want each project number to have its own separate email with the job number in the title of the email. Any suggestions on how to go about this? (Ex. using the attached document, for this particular day, I would have 3 emails total: project 12346 with 1 ticket listed, 199990 with 1 ticket listed and 12345 with 2 tickets listed.)
Hi everyone, I had a user request a line chart that is filterable by contact showing the Total Opportunities Created as one line and another line showing the total revenue generated. The idea is the lines would have 2-3 colors per set (YTD, last year, 2 years ago) and would be filterable by the contact they select. The challenge is to my knowledge you cannot dynamically filter formula queries. So how would you go about this? Basically when he does his quarterly business review meetings with clients he wants to pull up a chart showing how many opportunities we generated and how much revenue generated for that person. Than switch to another person for the next meeting
Hello, I'm wondering if there's any clever solutions to route to the file manage plug-in so end users can add documents to child records when they are also adding a parent record. I know natively that's not available due to lack of RID on the parent. But I was hoping to leverage some other formulas I've used in the past to circumvent this issue, but I'm getting syntax errors when I attempt to combine elements - I'm curious if this is user error or due to the plug-in it's simply not adaptable?general use case:User adds accounting record for invoicing, as a legal requirement in 2026 they have to now add several large documents for which I would like to leverage the file manager plugin. Samples of what I've concocted:The intention is to save before navigating/opening the file manager and/or use the %%rid%% to provide a new RID for the parent record so the user can bulk add documents with the parent form submission - I think I've scrambled somethings://original plug=in URL. do not tamp

Hi all:My non-profit in Detroit is looking to develop a job description to hire an individual to manage our Quickbase work. I am looking for sample job descriptions that we could build off of. We are specifically looking to develop a job description for an individual who my not have QB experience but has low code or just good experience with technical problem solving. Specifically a more junior level person. Is anyone willing to reply and share their organizational job descriptions?
Is there any way to programmatically interact with a field type Address when lat/long (coordinates) option is selected on the form? Neither Pipelines nor Form Rules seem to be able to cope with this. I believe I can populate these Address subfields programmatically but that's not an option in this case because street addresses are not applicable (there are none on this large site). In Pipelines, Latitude / Longitude fields do not appear in the schema and you cannot directly update the Address primary field. You must choose a subfield, none of which are lat/long.Form Rules is even worse in that it doesn't recognize any other valid fields with which to change the Address field value to. Presumably the only valid option would be some other address field which is not very useful. The goal is to not have users input lat/long but instead look those values up after a user has selected a friendly name (like a building number).Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/hA1WASz.png
Attempting to build a link that would navigate users to a google map page. What am I doing wrong? Using the logic below results in an "http://<a href=" ahead of the url. i.e. http://<a href=http://:www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=> Street 1 City State Zip</a>var text Words = ([Account - Venue Address: Street 1]&" "&[Account - Venue Address: City]&" "&[Account - Venue Address: State/Region]&" "&[Account - Venue Address: Postal Code]);var text URL = ("http://:www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query="); "<a href=" & $URL & ">" & $Words & "</a>" ------------------------------Ryan Parr------------------------------
Hello all!We have a Wiki app that tracks all pipelines in our realm (along with other items regarding our apps). The process is for whomever created the pipeline to create a new record to enter details about the pipeline (pipelineID, name, description, etc.). The problem is that not all our builders remember this process. Someone on my team asked if we could create a pipeline that enters at least a placeholder record in the Wiki app with some details of the pipeline. I thought it was a great out of box idea but don't know if it's possible. Would love any ideas/insight any of you can provide.
