Opt out of email notification to all users in a role

Question

I have my users grouped in roles.  I have email subscriptions that send to all users in a role.I have one user who would like to opt-out of one of the emails, but I need him still to be in that role for access purposes.  How do I set the "Deliver to" field on my subscription to exclude him?
