Public Access Role edits record and saves, but record does not update

Hello!

I've recently setup a button for my users to be able to send their customers a receipt of delivery. I've used a Secure Link for the customer to be able to open the receipt and setup the URL so it opens in edit, so they can scroll down and click a checkbox to confirm delivery.

However, when testing I'm noticing that even after I save and close as an outside user, the checkbox doesn't actually update on the record. Is there something I'm missing in either my Secure Link or the EOTI permissions that would cause this behavior?

Attached are screenshots of the record from my admin view, and a screenshot of the field from the customer's view.

Thank you in advance!

That's certainly odd, because if the outside non-signed in EOTI user does not have edit access then the URL will fail to open at all. I presume when the user saves the record, it seems to save OK with no errors.

Is there any chance you have a pipeline running that could be unchecking that check box?  Or a Form Rule firing "when the record is saved"?

One diagnostic thing you could try would be to put in a notification to Fire whenever a record changes just to see what is happening.

Mark has a good point that there could be something external interfering with the value change, like a Pipeline.

Something else you can check is whether the record is actually updating or saving at all. You might want to check your audit logs (App settings -> App Management -> Show audit logs) to verify what is actually happening.

Thanks for the replies.

There's no pipeline touching that table or field, and I tried removing the one form rule I had for the customer facing form and that didn't seem resolve it. No errors pop up when the outsider user clicks 'save and close', it just goes to a login screen after that, but I understand that's intended.

I did check the audit logs and found record of the outsider user looking at the form, but there was no record_edit log. The only logs from that visit are attached.

:)

Well, then, I have to ask this question.

Are you absolutely sure that the check box field that you are looking at on the customer form is the same check box field you are looking at on the internal form? Right click to see the field ID#
