Hi Antonina,

Here's a KB article that outlines what you described:

http://quickbase.intuit.com/developer/knowledge-base/how-can-i-create-formula-url-button-which-opens...

Let me know how it goes!

ooooo, I'm almost there! Just it opened the "add new form". how can I open another #19 form to edit current record I'm in?
I have now: URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_THE_CORE] &"?act=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_xx="&[Record ID#] &"&dfid=19" &"&z=" & Rurl()

To go to the edit record form replace API_GenAddRecordForm above with er:

URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_THE_CORE] &"?act=er&_fid_xx="&[Record ID#] &"&dfid=19" &"&z=" & Rurl()

The er stands for Edit Record.

hm.. it still gives me the form for add initiative and not edit the record. any ideas why?

Give this one a try:

 URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=er&key="&[Record ID#]&"&dfid=19"

Great! It works! Now I'm the most powerful person in the world!! :D
Thank you very much!
