Swapping fields in bulk

Question

Good afternoon,
Is there a way to swap a field for another, in bulk, across an app? Like a "find and replace" but for a field. Thanks for your help!------------------------------julie mcclenic------------------------------

What specifically? The field names, field type, the data contained within the field itself? There is the feature to Search and Replace in Schema that is like a schema find and replace for things like names or terms that might appear in fields or forms - but that isn't targeting data if you're attempting to swap out data values inside of fields themselves.
