Text Field Is 16 Characters But I Only Want To Display The Last 4 Characters

I have a text field that is 16 characters.  The first 12 characters are redundant, so I want to build a formula field based on the field that only shows the last 4 characters.  Is this possible?

    Mark a new formula text field

    Right(trim([my 16 character field]),4)
