Trigger pipeline after two others are complete?

I have a situation where I had to break what I wanted to do with one pipeline, but had to split into two due to the number of steps.  My question is how can I trigger an event to occur and make sure both pipelines are complete?  Bear in mind one or both may be triggered.

    You could have the last step of each pipeline be to check a checkbox in a record. 

    Then when one or both of those checkboxes updates, that can trigger the next pipeline.
