Trimming a text Field with a text formula

I am trying to create a report link that matches (Source Field to Target Field) respective Concatenated Text fields. This is what a typical result looks like: 86505-23-2020 06:06 AM . I need to create another field in both the Source Record and the Target record that trims the Concatenated Text field by 5 characters. So the result of the new field should be: 86505-23-2020 06. How do I achieve this with a text formula? I was thinking something like Part([Concatenated Text Field],16,"X") , but I am not sure.
