We looked - and we know! :-) But it isn't an easy solve. To make sure we are all grounded though, 90% of all bulk deletes happen in about 100ms (1/10th of a second). You will see slower performance on records with complex summary fields because of the vast amount of work we do behind the scenes to update those.
