Re-Introducing Quickbase's Re-Imagined Navigation
Sidebar Navigation is now Generally Available
NOTE: New Nav was originally planned to be Generally Available on October 1st. Due to platform performance challenges caught by our engineering team, and in order to provide our customers with the best possible experience, Quickbase decided to delay the GA and address the identified issues from October 1. With those issues now resolved, the New Nav GA was rolled out on October 2nd. We appreciate The Qrew's patience on this rollout!
Back in May, we introduced Quickbase’s sidebar navigation – a more user-friendly experience that allowed you to see (and do!) more of your work at once. Thanks to feedback from all of you, we were able to make some additional improvements in the last few months that continued to elevate how you interact with Quickbase. These include visual updates to more areas of the platform like the help and user menus, bug fixes, as well as some additional fit and finish flourishes.
Want a refresher as to what’s changed? Take a few minutes to watch this video and meet new nav!
As of today, sidebar navigation is Generally Available. With this change, the refreshed experience is now the default for your users. However, if they’ve interacted with the navigation options within their user preferences, we will respect the current settings to help with the transition.
For those of you who aren’t yet comfortable with the change, legacy (or top) navigation will still be available for use until the beginning of 2025. However, if it is not currently activated, using it going forward will require action from both admins and individual end users.
- Admins:
- Visit the Admin Console -> Permissions
- Turn the toggle that says, “Show navigation options in user preferences” ON.
- Users:
- Visit their User Preferences
- Switch from sidebar navigation to top navigation.
We’re happy to provide you with several resources to help you feel as comfortable as possible with the change, including this brand new end-user guide that you can share with your team members.
- Introducing New Navigation Blog Post
- New Navigation Help Article
- We’ll also continue to provide in-product messaging and tours to introduce you and your users to the navigation.
If you have any questions (or feedback), we’d love to hear from you!
Happy navigating!
