Can you believe that Quickbase has been hosting Empower since 2015?!
Much has changed since then (even how we spell "Quickbase") but Empower is still Empower: the best place to connect with others who use and love Quickbase.
We wanted to hear from some of our most savvy builders and admins about how they have benefited from attending previous Empowers and what they are looking forward to from Empower26.
Our first issue in this series is with SamLange1, who took some time away from masterminding his Quickbase apps to answer our questions. Thank you Sam!
Samuel Lange, Lead Quickbase Developer, M&D Capital AdvisorsWhat are you most excited about for Empower this year? (e.g., sessions, speakers, networking, product updates, etc.) I am most excited for the sessions. That’s where people drill down and give out the goodies.
What challenges or goals are you hoping to focus on while you’re there? I am hoping to learn more about best practices for creating audit logs for our apps. I also want to learn more about the new Bulk step in Quickbase.
Why did you decide to attend Empower? I went last year and gained a lot from it and had a great time! I’m excited to do that again and I even convinced my coworker to join me this year.
What would make this event a success for you? If I can learn 3 new things that I can bring back and use in my day to day it will be worth it.
Tell us about your first Empower experience. Where was it and what was memorable? My first in person Empower was 2025 in New Orleans. The energy of the Empower and the experience of the city were just special in a way that I won’t ever forget.
What’s been the best Empower in your opinion? What stood out? New Orleans was my best since there is nothing like learning and networking in person. But some of the older virtual ones with the recorded sessions were huge since I can go back and watch them and learn after the event. It’s very hard to learn it all in 1 or 2 days!
How was it getting back to an in-person event after virtual-only years? For me it was really nice and more memorable. But the virtual event is more convenient so that is the tradeoff.
If someone is on the fence about attending this year, what’s your pitch? Why attend Empower 2026? If you use Quickbase a lot in your job, then Empower is definitely the place to be! You can network with other people and learn how they solve problems using Quickbase which you may have never thought of! It’s also a great feeling to be around other people who understand what you do all day and talk your language.
