Intro My name is Wes. I rebuilt my career on and previously worked at Quickbase but now work at Versar in IT. My scope of work is broader than Quickbase, but Quickbase work is still a highlight after nearly a decade. I particularly enjoy backend work for automation and extension of the platform beyond native capabilities. Hello,I am looking for any advice/help on QuickBase's Document Template issues I have been experiencing. I have a word template that I have uploaded that is a single page, however it keeps spanning multiple pages when I uploaded. Has anyone been able to adjust the spacing in Document Templates? I can't find any way to do it, it seems to default to a double space and I want single spaces. Has anyone been able to find a way to keep their documents templates to just a single page easily? Thanks
How do you sort a stacked bar chart based on the total value of the bar. The chart only allows for sorting based on the values in the X axis. In my case these are peoples names. I am looking to sort the bars from highest to lowest. I have tried by using formula numeric fields .... no luck. If anyone has this solved... let me know
Secure links to reports are mentioned in the Quickbase documentation and multiple places on the Quickbase website, but I can't find a single example.I understand how secure links can be made for forms and records and know there are examples of this in the Exchange. But there is no example of how to create secure links to reports.I figure one way to do it is create a key generator field, then an ask the user report, and filter to records where the result equals the key value. But just wondering if anyone has any other, better ideas?
Context: In old forms I had a rule that that would WRITE the old status to a log field when the user CHANGED the status of a transaction. (e.g. New to Complete, New to Hold, etc.). This was achieved by using a dynamic form rule triggered on the field value change upon SAVE. Additional Note: Thanks to @Mark Shnier (Your Quickbase Coach) post about "$prev." in Jinja I know we can do it there in a pipeline - but that isn't a desirable method. Possible Work Around in New Forms: Use the old form or create a pipeline on record save and use $prev. I tried playing around with New Forms rules formula builder - but still seem to lack a way to access the OLD Field Value and an Action trigger. Wasn't there some way to access an old field value within a formula so that I could use the New Form rules formula builder to create a boolean for [Status] <> [old.Status] as a trigger? ------------------------------joe vandervest-----------------------------
I have used HTML pages as instruction sheets to walk users through the steps of creating records.I am entertaining using them for detailed work instructions for jobs at the plant, but this would require hundreds of pages. Is there a limit to the number of pages you can use in Quick Base? I know there is a limit to the number of tables in an app, but can't find information on pages.

Hello! I need to "connect" multiple records within the same table that have the same phone number. Each record is a customer with a membership. Sometimes a customer will have a membership and it gets cancelled and then they will rejoin later with a new membership number or even within a different club and this will then cause me to have two records with the same phone number. (And I even have some with 3 or 4 records). I would like to connect them, but what I would like to know is when I go to search using the global search field and it brings up all of the records, is there a way for me to have some sort of indicator of the "good" account? An example:Record 1 Jane Doe 501-999-9999 Club XYZ Mbr# 123456 Status: CXLRecord 7 Jane Doe 501-999-9999 Club ABC Mbr#78910 Status: INACTIVERecord 9 Jane Doe 501-999-9999 Cl
Hi everyone,I’m building a recipe card in my form, and I was able to embed a report from another table. The issue is that when the form loads, the report doesn’t automatically show all the ingredients grouped the way I need. I have to click More, Sort and Group every time to get the correct view.Does anyone know how I can set the embedded report so it always displays in the sorted and grouped format (like in my “After” picture) without needing to manually sort it each time?I’ve attached two images:Before: how the report looks when the form first opensAfter: how it looks once I apply the sort and groupingAny ideas on how to make the embedded report default to the “After” view? Thanks!
Watch Wes's update below to a Qrew Tip he made 2 years agoAdding custom bulk updates to records from reports have never looked easier! In his example he uses the delete action to show child records being removed from a parent record while all tiers are visible on a report. Cool stuff!Wes has graciously provided his secret sauce. You'll find the code he used at the bottom of this post. Wes's Code provided below: The below code allows the adding of a custom delete option to appear on V3 reports (aka grid reports). <!DOCTYPE html><html><head> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <title>Bulk Delete</title> <script> async function deleteRecords() { try { // Parse query string const params = new URLSearchParams(window.location.search); const dbid = params.get("dbid"); const apptoken = params.get(
Hello! I have a table with the following fields: Name (text) Check-in Period (date) Pulse (Numeric) I would like to have a report that shows ONLY employees whose average pulse over the current month and previous 2 months is less than or equal to 3. Currently, I've set up a summary report (see Current Summary Report & Current Summary Report Settings in attachment) to show the average pulse for the current month and previous 2 months. I'm struggling to filter the summary report to only show records where the average pulse is less than or equal to 3 (see Current Summary Report - I would like Employee 4 to be excluded since their average is above 3). Using the normal filter options, if I set up an additional filter to include only records with a pulse of less than or equal to 3, it filters out the individual records so they aren't included in the summarized data. For example, in Drilldown Report into Employee Name 2, the record on 03-26-2022 with a pulse of 4
Hello, I am a newbie trying to learn and I was hoping someone would be able to help me figure this out, if possible.I have a summary report (attached) that we use to look at "item number" totals for an active job.Our foreman enter a daily log and chose the different item numbers that they are doing that day and enter whatever quantity installed. We have the unit price of the "item number" and the "bid quantity" that was projected. The problem is that the "bid amount" calculates the "bid quantity" every time that "item number" is used in a daily. For example; if they use 001 in 4 dailys and installed 453 SY it would calculate the "bid amount" as 1838 x 4 =7352 - but the "bid amount" should just be 3.13 x 1838 = 5752.94. so it was making that total way off.BUT the "Quantity Installed" calculates the "Revenue" correctly. 1812 x 3.13 = 5671.56.I was told for this that the "Bid amount" should be changed to Maximum and that will just give you the total of the "unit price" and "

Hello,I am trying to create a Timeline Report for data that has a start date and due date field. The start date of my report is January 1, 2026 and the end date is December 31, 2026, but the Timeline displays December 2025 through January 2027. Filters on the report are set to only pull items that have a Start Date on or after January 1, 2026 AND an Due Date on or before 12/31/2026. The report is pulling the correct information, but the extra weeks/months show on the report and I would prefer they do not.Odd thing, if I change the Start Date range of the report view to February 1, 2026, it accurately starts at that date but still reflects the same amount of records set by the filtering criteria.Am i missing something?
I have a requirement to create a report with 3 filters, name, auditdate and percentage (to list values like 5, 10,25,50,100).When the name and auditdate filters are applied and say 10 records are displayed, selecting the percentage filter say 50 should list any 5 records and so on. How can I achieve this?
I built a ticketing system for our department so we can receive requests from employees for assistance they may need. Once my manager reviews the ticket and approves and assigns it to a team member for them to work on it, I want the Approve/Deny buttons to disappear on the Internal Ticket Review Form's "Edit" view we see when we click on the ticket to open it once the ticket has been approved. I also don’t want the Approve/Deny instructional text to show after that either. How can I do this?Thank you.
I'm creating a document template and I want to add a barcode of a text field. I've added this to the source directly from a rich text formula field. The resulting document is displayed as What is the proper notation to get the field "UDI" into the <img src....? Thanks.
I am trying to find out how many times a record is added or modified in an app. I don't want a list of each time this happened I just want a number totalling for each time a record is added and a number for when a form is modified for a particular time period. Is this possible? Thanks,Brian
About a week ago, I showed how AI Actions can extract key details from emails and structure them for use in Pipelines.Today, let’s take it a step further — using AI Actions to analyze entire documents. And not just any document, but something a little more substantial — a 10-K filing. Why a 10-K? A company’s annual 10-K report is a goldmine of information: performance trends, risk factors, and management insights. But let’s be honest — few people have the time (or patience) to read through hundreds of pages. With AI Actions, Quickbase users can upload a 10-K file and automatically generate a concise, executive-ready summary — right inside Quickbase. No APIs, no custom models. Just a pipeline. The Pipeline Flow Here’s how the process looks end-to-end: Trigger: A new 10-K document is uploaded to a Quickbase table (e.g., Filings). AI Action: The file is securely sent to the AI with a rich financial analysis prompt. Result: The AI returns a summary recorded in a rich text field - ready to

I want to create an Outlook pipeline that searches for or filters for Outlook Tags and then creates a record in a QuickBase table. It appears that searching that field in Outlook isn't an option, but 'Expression (advanced)' under filters might be, although I'm unsure how to write it or if it's even possible.
