For context, I am self-taught in QB and not a programmer so I have no experience in this area. ------------------------------ Terri Bruce ------------------------------ Re: Can I write a formula for a commission rate based on a User's Role?Thank you for letting me know. ------------------------------ Terri Bruce ------------------------------ Can I write a formula for a commission rate based on a User's Role?I have a Work Order table. The person who creates a Work Order receives a commission for the job on the work order. Formula: Work Order Price * Commission Rate. I'd like to have a different Commission Rate based on the User Role of the person who wrote the work order. For example: Sales = 10%, Rep = 7.5%. Is that possible? ------------------------------ Terri Bruce ------------------------------ Re: Date Formula for ReportingThank you so much. I really appreciate the time you took to educate me. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work so we're going to bail on that plan and change our parameters to something easier like start date in the prior month. ------------------------------ Terri ------------------------------ Re: Date Formula for ReportingHi Don, I'm sorry. I'm really confused. I don't understand why I need to make it a text? And then how do I use that formula to filter my report? I can't figure out how to compare my job start dates to the date generated in that formula so the correct jobs show up on the monthly reports. ------------------------------ Terri ------------------------------ Re: Date Formula for ReportingThank you, Don. I've never worked with Report formulas before so I've learned something new. I can't figure out how to make it work for the report I need on the 1st of the month because it has to be >20 two months ago but <5 last month. Any suggestions? ------------------------------ Terri ------------------------------ Date Formula for ReportingI am trying to generate 2 monthly reports: One comes out on the first of the month and one comes out on the 16th of the month. I have a Start Date field. I'm trying to figure out how to filter the reports so the jobs with Start Dates fall on these reports: First of the month: Start Date on or after the 21st of 2 months previous and Start Date on or before the 5th of the previous month (i.e for the February 1 report, Start Date would be December 21 - January 5 16th of the month: Start Date on or after the 6th of the previous month and Start Date on or before the 20th of the previous month (i.e. for the February 20 report, Start Date would be January 6 - January 20) ------------------------------ Terri ------------------------------ Return to Dashboard ButtonHow do I create a button on a form that will return to the Dashboard? ------------------------------ Terri ------------------------------ Re: How can I create a formula URL button which opens a specific form for data entry?Hi Brian - I don't seem to be able to override theforms usage at the role level. Form2:https://cbs.quickbase.com/db/bqifgyepk?a=DFormProps&dfid=2&tab=e Form10:https://cbs.quickbase.com/db/bqifgyepk?a=DFormProps&dfid=10&tab=e URL for 2:URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_INVENTORY_ADJUSTMENTS] & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_2=" & URLEncode ([Record ID#])& "&z=" & Rurl() URL for 10:URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_INVENTORY_ADJUSTMENTS] & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_10=" & URLEncode ([Record ID#])& "&z=" & Rurl() But they both take me to Form 2 which is the role setting. Any suggestions?Re: Billable Hours ReportUnfortunately, I don't think I provided enough information. There is a parent table Locations that has a child table Services. Each Location can have many Services. The Work Order table is a child of Services. Each Service can have many Work Orders. The Work Order table is also a child of the Employees table. Each Employee can have many Work Orders. In order to accomodate the 6 potential fields I created 6 relationships (is there a better way?). Therefore, in order to calculate Employee hours, the only way I can figure out how to do that is to run 6 different reports (1 per field/relationship on the Work Order). That is my dilemma. Is there a better way for me to set up the Employee-Work Order relationship(s)? Or is there a way to add the 6 fields together for reporting?
