We have an Inventory table, we buy "item A" at different priceat different time item A : 1@$10 = 10total item A : 1@$20 = 20total item A : 2 @$40 = 80total The "average per unit cost" is different depending on number of item sold. The minimum price wecan sale (with no profit no loss) if nothing sold, average per unit cost = (1x$10 + 1x$20+ 2x$40)/ 4 = $110/4 = $27.5 if sold 1 unit,(1x$20+ 2x$40)/ 3= $90 / 3 = $30 average per unit cost if sold 2unit,(2x$40)/ 2 = $80 / 2= $40 average per unit cost if sold 3unit,(1x$40)/ 1= $40 average per unit cost How to I calculate average unit cost in quickbase? Any way to do this with build-in quickbase function alone? Much thanks! ------------------------------ George Fong ------------------------------ Re: Sneak Peek: Type-Ahead Search PickerAny way to disable this feature? My customer like it the old way :-(Re: Use a drop down menu instead of pop-out record pickerI understand what you are saying about adding an extra filter field ... but people have been using this the same way for years - they are acting like I broke the app :-(Re: Use a drop down menu instead of pop-out record pickerYes but this is field for entering part numbers. All values start with a 'P'. So it is a lot faster to type 'p1001' than the name of the product.Re: Use a drop down menu instead of pop-out record pickerNo. I don't want the record picker.. I want the drop down. Thanks.Re: Use a drop down menu instead of pop-out record pickerI have more than 1,000 choices (grow over time). The drop down is much faster for me. How to I force the drop down?Re: Using a text field to filter a Record Picker fieldThank you for very helpful suggestions. What I really want is that "pop-up search text box" to be on the form itself. So the user can paste in a string and filter down to 1 or few items in the record picker.Using a text field to filter a Record Picker fieldI am currently using a standard Numeric (reference) record picker for users to select catalog ID. The catalog is getting big. I want to add a second field to the form so that user can just type in the ID. As the user type in the ID the reference field would filter down. Any idea how I can do this? Thanks! How to I pull text data from child table and 'combine' into a single text field at the parent level? Kind of like a summary field for text. I need this for a report. For example - the parent table "jobs" that has 3 services. I want to pull the 3 "service names" into a single field ('service names') for the related "job". I want to combine the names into a single field for easy export. Thanks! Re: How to create a view or maybe report combine the items from 2 tables? That's cool. Thanks!
