ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Cross Table Sequential NumberGreat idea Mark, thanks! ------------------------------ Matt Hardy ------------------------------ Cross Table Sequential NumberWe use QB to generate invoices across multiple tables within one app - how can I create a sequential numbering system that pulls the next number when the user clicks a button? We don't want the invoice # created when the record is made, we prefer to create it when it's ready to send. I currently have something hacked together using pipelines but there is a small delay which can result in duplicate invoices numbers in rare occasions. I have no problem reading/writing to a field using the API but I'm struggling to come up with a clean solution. ------------------------------ Matt Hardy ------------------------------ Re: Pipelines - obtain count of records processed in a Search stepTry adding an IF with an advanced expression. I haven't tested this, but I suspect {{a|count}} = 0 would work ------------------------------ Matt Hardy ------------------------------ Re: Pipelines - What permissions are neededI don't have an answer for this, but I keep a "Sandbox" app for this sort of thing. It's just an app for testing these things. Make a read only field in there and create a basic pipeline that tries to write to it and see what happens. No worries of effecting real data ------------------------------ Matt Hardy ------------------------------ Re: Check for unique records and import them while reject others in bulk importCould you create a copy of the table without the unique requirement, import into that, then run a pipeline to copy the data to the working table? The pipeline will fail on each of the non-unique records, but will continue on all unique. Then use the same pipeline to remove all records from the import table ------------------------------ Matt Hardy ------------------------------ Re: Way to bulk upload files and attach to specific records? Are you open to uploading to a cloud storage provider to initiate the process? Create folder with a name you can use to link to a specific record. Could be [Record ID] or something more user friendly like a job name? Trigger pipeline on new file Search through each file, attach to QB and relate using the folder name ------------------------------ Matt Hardy ------------------------------ Re: Setting a status field on exporting dataAre these records related in any way? ie all children of a parent record? Here's what I have in mind, hopefully this makes sense for your scenario: Parent table, let's call it Exported This table has a field called Paid, probably a checkbox Child table has all your sales, lets call that Sales This table pulls the Paid checkbox from the parent Now, when it comes time to export a set of records, relate them all to one parent. Export the data. Then mark the parent as Paid, which will cascade to the children. If that works, I think a formula url could do it all in one shot. ------------------------------ Matt Hardy ------------------------------ Re: Print Form to LandscapeDid you ever find a solution to this? ------------------------------ Matt Hardy ------------------------------ Re: Overlapping datesChange the query from AND to OR ------------------------------ Matt Hardy ------------------------------ Re: Cross App Formula QueryThat's what I expected. Thanks for the confirmation and suggestion Mark, I'll see if that will work for me. ------------------------------ Matt Hardy ------------------------------
