ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Using QB for CPQ app? David, I've created several inventory and estimating forms for our business. Managing all the fields and actions can be a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it, they work really well. The trick is always to build for scale. I've learned how to do this on my own, mostly through trial and error. If you're already using Quickbase, it's convenient to have everything in one place, in a familiar environment. However, I wouldn't recommend it for beginners unless your system is super simple and won't change much or often. In my experience, formulas tend to be more dependable than form rules. Both have their uses, but I've found that formulas consistently give better results. I hope this information is helpful! ------------------------------ David Hyde | Director of Technology, Systems Dev. and Data Analytics BWW, Inc. dba SERVPRO® Team Wilson Locations in Birmingham, AL | Dallas, TX | Houston, TX ------------------------------ Re: IF GetFieldValue Formula? Did this solve your issue? ------------------------------ David Hyde | Director of Technology, Systems Dev. and Data Analytics BWW, Inc. dba SERVPRO® Team Wilson Locations in Birmingham, AL | Dallas, TX | Houston, TX ------------------------------ Re: IF GetFieldValue Formula? To add to the response . When I say the relationship has to be based on the part number. you don't necessarily have to change thekey field. You can just make the proxy field the part number so it makes sense for entering. If that makes sense. So in a sense it will still be based on Record ID or whatever your key field was but it will show the part number in the picker. ------------------------------ David Hyde ------------------------------ Re: IF GetFieldValue Formula? The easiest way for that would be to... Create a Text formula called [Status] in the Restricted Table that is simple like this. Restricted Create a relationship from the Restricted Table to the Inventory Table based on part number. Then create a lookup field to the Inventory Table for the formula field that you made called [Status]. Then go to your Product Ordering Table and create a lookup field to your Inventory Table that pulls that same field you just pulled from the Restricted Table. Then for some extra flair I would hide the lookup field and create another Rich text formula field that looks something like this. If ([Inventory - Restricted - Status]="Restricted","<div class='' style='padding: 3px 5px; background: #FF9999; border-radius: 8px; text-align: center;'>Restricted</div>","<div class='' style='padding: 3px 5px; background: #99FF33; border-radius: 8px; text-align: center;'>Available</div>) Then place the new formula next to the part number in the order sheet and with the Dynamic Form Rules - hide the field unless the field says "Restricted" or "Available" so that you don't have an ugly empty block sitting there until a part is selected. If i misunderstood I apologize. I hope this helps! ------------------------------ David Hyde ------------------------------ Re: IF GetFieldValue Formula? This is possible, Are you trying to make it automatically count off of an inventory or are you manually managing inventory and you want to see what the status of an item is? Both are possible but one is a little more complex than the other. ------------------------------ David Hyde ------------------------------ Master Gantt Chart (New Plug in) I actually have two questions: Can you print the new gantt chart? Can you create a master gantt that puts all of your active projects in 1 gantt? I know the project field is collapsable but i don't see a way to do it. ------------------------------ David Hyde ------------------------------ Re: Ask Me Anything about Quick Base Mobile I have a form that for some reason has issues on the mobile app. It works fine on desktop. I have tried multiple tests and I cant seem to pinpoint the issue. It always just says internal error. In my opinion, the form is not that complicated as compared to many of my others but this one specifically wants to be an issue. Any insight?
