Fix Legend Colour for Pie Chart

I have a number of pie charts that displays the current status of our records, each chart shows a different subset of the records.
There are 6 potential statuses, but not all of them are in use all of the time, and it can be quite fluid as to which ones are in use in the various subsets.

I have set colours on the legend for these charts, but as some statuses appear and disappear from the charts these colours lose their settings, or the ordering changes because a status at the top of the list is not in use and the colours all change.

Is there any way to fix the legend colours by a field name, rather than just an order?

As an example, the report might contain records with the following status and legend colours:
    1. "Failed" in red
    2. "Passed" in green
    3. "Pending" in blue

If at some point we have no failed records, this changes to:
    1. "Passed" in red
    2. "Pending" in green

We then have a new failed record appear and this changes to:
    1. "Failed" in red
    2. "Passed" in green
    3. "Pending" in maroon red or other random colour

    Hi Paul,

This is a question we have received before on charts and assigning specific colors to specific values. Currently, there is not a native way to fix a specific color to a specific value in our charting as they attempt to adjust on the fly to any changes. Whether it be the addition of new categories or the removal of categories.

I would encourage you though to include that feedback in our User Voice as a business need for your company. UserVoice is our Feedback Platform- which can most easily be accessed from the My Apps page in Quick Base by clicking on the orange Feedback tab that appears on the left hand side of the page or at http://quickbase.uservoice.com .  This forum is used by our development team to explore customer suggestions for enhancements / changes to the platform.

You can patch any QuickBase rendered chart using the in Un-HighCHarted Waters technique demonstrated in these posts / applications:

    https://haversineconsulting.quickbase.com/db/bk89redf6?a=td

    https://community.quickbase.com/quickbase/topics/statistical-process-control-charts

    https://community.quickbase.com/quickbase/topics/how-do-obtain-highchart-insight

There are about a half dozen demos I did at various times which demonstrate how to patch (modify) a QuickBase rendered chart. I don't have time to track them all down to URLs but these links should lead you to the underlying technique.
