A number is pulling into a field I want text

I am pulling the information via a relationship from one table to another.  However,

the number is constantly showing up as a number.  It is the Proxy Reference too.

What am I doing wrong?  I have encountered this before and have always been able to fix it.  Not today!

    Can you give us a screenshot of the relationship where that is being pulled in?

        There is something messed up about that field. It is a numeric lookup field. I suggest you delete it and look it up again on the relationship.
