customized new record form

Hey everyone,

QuickBase typically bases the "+ New" form on the main form.  Is there a way to create a unique (i.e. greatly simplified) +New form?  Doesn't appear to be an option in the form editor.

Thanks,
Rick

  • Yes, you COPY the main form in the table; and then you will see the page change.  You will then have options to specify whether ALL roles or some roles see your new modified Form as their default Add / Edit / View / Mobile views.

Look for the COPY icon on the end of the Form row in the forms-area of the table-settings

        Rick,
A caution on using multiple forms. When your users view or edit a record and you have multiple forms it can become very difficult to control which the proper form to use is. If you have a situation where you want to always use a mini form in Add mode and then beyond that use the full form then that can work well but you might also want to also consider using form rules to show or hide sections based on input fields on the form. That way you just have one form for all situations.
