Adding duration to date / time field

Dang it Mark, I knew I was making it too difficult. It was the Hours phrasing before the duration that I was missing.

right, when you have a date time field you need to be adding a duration to it and not a number as the system does not know if that would be seconds, minutes, hours, days or weeks to add.

Hi Mark:

I am having a similar problem:

[Date Created]+Days([Response Time Record - Response Duration])

[Date Created] is Date/Time field
[Response Time Record - Response Duration] is a duration field

I am still receiving this error message:

Any ideas what I am doing wrong? I've tried everything I can think of.

  I know that these duration fields can be confusing, but you are just overthinking it.
  All you need is
  
  [Date Created] + [Response Time Record - Response Duration]

    That didn't work either. But..... it lead me to re-asses field formats.
    
    I was using a Formula-Duration field for my final results, not a Formula-Date field.
    
    Once I corrected, your advise worked perfectly!
    
    My next step is to factor in business days into calculation of completion target date. I noticed you have a sample formula on another thread - awesome.
