Automation, with restrictions, involving two separate forms

Hi all,

Apologies for the slightly confusing subject...

I have two forms in my app - Certifications and Test Records.

Within both, there are 4 checkboxes - Desktop, Mobile Web, Mobile App, and OTT, with the addition of Status within the Test Records form. Within the Certifications form, all checkboxes can be TRUE, while in the Test Records form only one checkbox can be TRUE per Test Record.

My ask - is it possible to automate an action when a Test Record is saved, while one of its checkboxes is TRUE AND Status is set to "Complete", to mark the same checkbox within the Certification record, and if it's already marked, to do nothing?

I have already tried creating automation for this, but every time the Test Record is saved, it just copies the checkbox states over to the Certification form. So, if I had Desktop and Mobile Web checked before, and I added a fresh Mobile App record, the automation would set the Mobile App to TRUE, and Desktop, Mobile Web to FALSE.

Not sure if my automation logic is faulty, or if there's a limitation, but I'd really appreciate it if someone could steer me in the proper direction.

Thanks!
