Automations failed to run. No errors recorded.

I have 8 automations set up to run on Sundays. The previous two weeks they worked perfectly, but this Sunday, nothing happened. (They are all Enabled.) No errors were generated, either. Was there a global automations outage over the weekend? :D I'm not sure what to do next to troubleshoot this. Any ideas?

  • I would recommend submitting a support ticket to verify that they did not run; or did but did not make any updates.  Quick Base will be able to look at your automation logs to find out.  The sooner you do this, the more likely they are to help pinpoint an issue.

I just tried manually running one of my table imports and got a message that I don't have permission to add records to the table. I had turned off permissions to add records to the table, thinking that would just remove the button that allows you to add a record manually. Looks like it also prevents automations you own from adding records too! All the automations not working were based on adding new records.

Consider, if you have the User capacity, creating a Robot User for your Account; which you would use to build Automations with.  You would also setup Usertokens for the Robot User which you would reference in (as required) automations/webhooks etc.

You can then build a custom-role for the Robot User with all permissions turned on to prevent this issue.  You must of course have access to the email address that the Robot User is assigned, because you will need to login to Quick Base "as" the Robot User to own the Automations.  This would enable you as an Admin to still have role-controls for yourself without breaking automations and other background processes.
