Hello Joseph,

I think we may need a little more information on what the button actually does and what changes to provide a better answer.  However, in short, it seems as though a better option is to create and automation that runs every week and only changes records based on the criteria you would use to decide whether or not a button gets pushed for that specific job.  Then the automation would automatically run through the thousands of jobs and change what needs to be changed without having to click the button.
