I just want the value of the formula field populated into a data entry field. I created a field that I'm using for reporting purposes, and what's driving the population of the field, is the entry of a data on a form.

6 years agoOK, so you will need to have a Dynamic Form Rule. In order for the rule to work, that formula field will need to be on the form, even if it's in a hidden section.
The form rule would look like.
When multiple conditions are true
ALL of the following
[my data entry field] is blank
[my formula field is not blank]
Change the value of the [my data entry field] to the value in the field [my formula field].
then uncheck the checkbox at the bottom of he form so that the rule fires all the time.

The field that's getting populated is not on the form. Does that matter?

Probably does mater. Why not put it on the form, in read only mode if you like.

Why would I check to see if my formula field, is not blank? If I've never entered data in the data entry field the formula field will always be blank.
In the dynamic roll, after I select Action > Change, the field is not there to be selected. I did add the field to the form.
How do I hide a field on a form?

The formula field would be blank if
[Proposal Approval to Alight]
was blank as its used in the formula.
I am assuming here from your post that you have some reason not to simply use the formula field on the form. Is there is reason you want to use a form rule to populate a data entry field for the value in that formula field?
