Calculate totals in header field from underlying itemline fields

Hello,

I'm trying to find a solution for the following issue:
I have header records and itemline records for tasks in my department. The total estimated time in hours filled out for each itemline record should be added up and shown as a total value in the field estimated time in the corresponding header record.

Is this possible? If yes, how?

    Can you be more specific on "header"? A screenshot would be helpful. 

    Are you referring to a report, record title, etc? It should add up the itemline totals on a report.

      @Thea, just go to the relationship where 1 Header has many itemlines and on the left side create a Summary field.​
