Calculation Error

Question

I have a simple numeric formula field that sums 8 different fields. However, the result appears to be off by .188 (the total should add up to 11.65). I have quadruple checked the formula and related fields and dependencies and can't figure out why. Any ideas?

Sure. The results aren't being rounded, just displayed to three decimals.

One thing I've found is that when I change the order in which the fields in the formula appear (principally the highlighted field), the formula result changes.

The name of that highlighted field in your formula is not the same as the name of the field on the form.
Do you have a form override on the field name or do you in fact have two similarly named Fields and there is confusion as to which is the correct field to use in your formula.?

On the other thought I have is that QuickBase differentiates between fields that evaluate to 0 and Fields that evaluate to null. Perhaps that field for Resin is evaluating to null as opposed to zero.&nbsp; You could either change that field to ensure that blanks are being treated as null if that field is as a result of a summary field. Or if you want to go brute force you can wrap each of your addition terms in Nz&nbsp; to force nulls to be treated as zeros).&nbsp; I try to avoid that myself as it makes the formula look messy but since we are grasping at straws here for ideas, try this&nbsp;&nbsp;Nz([field 1])+Nz([field 2])+Nz(field 3])&nbsp; etc....------------------------------Mark Shnier (YQC)mark.shnier@gmail.com------------------------------
