Can I automate the process through automate the process(SAVE & CLOSE ) along with calculation of child table

My requirement is to automate a process.

For a parent table, we are adding a child record along with calculation a value with respect to date selection.

Can I customize and automate the process of which by Click on SAVE & CLOSE button QB should calculate and generate the child record?

    You should be able to do this with a ACTION

    An action setup looks similar to an email notification except that it can perform an ACTION such as ADD record.

    Be sure to populate the field in the child called [Related Parent] or else the child will be an orphan.
