I'll be using the new style form. I've built a few smaller apps in the legacy form, but there were also not as many records in those as there will be for this new app. Wondering if anyone out there has experience with a large number of fields in the new style forms?
I think that more of the impact than the number of fields is the number of pages. I have one form with only 8 pages and perhaps 100 fields, and the form builder BARELY works. It takes about 30 seconds to open the form builder, and dragging and dropping fields is nearly impossible. They are using my app to try and figure out how they can fix that, but so far, I would say I would hesitate to put any more than about 8-10 tabs (pages) on a new form, or its impossible to customize.
It should be noted that I haven't done enough testing to figure out if the biggest contributor to the slow down is number of fields, number of sections, or number of tabs/pages. But so far it really seems like it is number of pages.
