Color coding fields

I'm trying to assign each user a color and need help with doing this.   I'd like the whole background to be colored differently for each user in their "name" field.   Seems so simple but I cannot figure it out.  halp?

    So you are trying to color rows of a Regular table report?  Do you have a Relationship where 1 User has many records?

    Can you tell us if the User field is just a name or is the field type a userid?

    Are you trying to just color one cell of a table report or the whole row.
