You have to redirect if you don't want to land on the API response page. This isn't an error, but it did not change the checkbox to checked.
What are the conditions you are trying to evaluate? I don't follow your conditional statement:
"If([Remote Services] and [Remote Services] != [Remote Services - Submit], $URLRemoteServices)"
Your first [Remote Services] call does not evaluate anything. I would expect something more along the lines of:
If([Remote Services] = true and [Remote Services] != [Remote Services - Submit], $URLRemoteServices)

In fact with a Boolean (checkbox) field, you do not need to check if it is true. It is inherently true or false.
In fact all of these expressions will yield identical results
IF([My checkbox field]=true, true, false)
IF([My checkbox field]=true, true)
[My checkbox field]=true
[My checkbox field]

I changed the URL to URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?act=API_EditRecord&apptoken=ghhrwtcy2ca93dvtmnvidb9gm5a&rid=" & [Record ID#] & "&_fid_3008=1" &"&rdr=" & Rurl();
It is updating the checkbox, but now getting a prompt to save the form and the following error:

------------------------------- That is not an error, it means it worked fine. It says it updated one field which sounds right based on it being for a checkbox. I know it looks just like an error though, I don't like the way it is done either.

If you are clicking the button from inside of a record that you have not saved then I would expect it to prompt you with a save. Does it work fine in View mode? Do you need this to be done inside a record while editing it?
