If it increases your confidence at all, Quickbase makes​ daily backups by default if you haven't discussed a custom SLA with your Success Manager. Worst case scenario, you could restore to a previous backup (though you would lose any data changes from before the restore).
On a side note, if you don't have access to the developer who originally created the application I would recommend getting connected with another developer or Quickbase Solution Provider to help you document the requirements of the application or the current state if possible. This way if you were in need of an emergency fix, you could pass the documentation onto a developer who could help.
