Dark Mode?

Implementing a Dark Mode feature in Quickbase would significantly improve the user experience, especially for users who spend long hours in the platform. Dark Mode can help reduce eye strain and make it easier to work across multiple tools that already support darker themes.

There is clear user interest in this enhancement, with feedback noting that adjusting screen brightness isn’t an ideal solution for extended use. Adding a native Dark Mode option would align Quickbase with modern UI standards while supporting accessibility and everyday productivity.

Overall, this would be a small change with a meaningful impact on comfort and usability.

  • Totally agree! We built our own internal Chrome extension to add Dark Mode functionality. It works seamlessly on all our apps with code pages and native Quickbase. Happy to share if you'd like and can walk you through the setup. Even after setup it's easy to enable/disable

It automatically picks up on any URL that is *.quickbase.com with an app ID and then adds a floating toggle to go Dark/Light at the bottom right.

  • This is so greate Kojo. I'd like to explore how you worked around this. Thank you

There are a lot of extensions in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox that will apply a dark mode look to any website. Haven't tried any myself, but this one is featured on the Microsoft Edge store for example:

Dark Mode - Night Eye - Microsoft Edge Addons

Microsoft has this to say about featured extensions: "The Featured badge at Microsoft Edge Add-ons highlights extensions that meet a high bar of quality, security, and user experience."

It would be nice for Quickbase to consider a native dark mode, as dark mode has increasingly moved from a nice-to-have to a more standard accessibility feature that is included on an increasingly large number of apps, websites, and operating systems.
