display of rich text field as table filter - shows code, not image?

I would love to be able to use Rich Text fields as nicely visual filters on table reports. I just downloaded an app from the exchange that I am gently modifying (it's a wonderful app - Team Collaboration Project Manager!), and it includes by default a rich text field as a visual filter on the table home page. But it just displays the html, not the field value, in the filter options.  I tried to do this on my own in another app and couldn't make it work; just chalked it up to my inability to stick with it and get the desired result. Now I see that I'm not the only one.  So, is it possible to have the filters display as the images rather than the html?
