Hi Dirk,
The functionality you are looking for is possible in Quick Base but it requires a little bit of building to get it set up. In Quick Base help documentation it is referred to as a Conditional Dropdown and you can build one making use of Quick Base tables and relationships. What you would do is create a table of Supplier Types with a record for each Supplier Type and then a table for Suppliers. Then you would relate each Supplier to the Supplier Type. Then in your current table you would have a relationship between Supplier Type and your current table and then Supplier and your current table. Then you can set them up so that once you have picked a Supplier Type you only see Suppliers who have the same Supplier Type. You can find the help documentation on Conditional Dropdowns that go into more details on the process here.
They take a little building to get set up but can be very helpful for your end users to simplify data entry. I hope this information is helpful.
