Formula text field = list user fields

Question

Why can i not include a [user] or [user list] type field in a formula text field? &nbsp;I want to make the text field = user field. &nbsp;What are the limitations when working with user fields?

I think you have to explicitly convert them to text:ToText([user])

I have mad webhook skills. However, tonight I am giving a 5 minute lightning talk on Service Workers at my local JavaScript meetup and all my time today is going into trying to fit my presentation into such a short time frame. This produces the user's email address when I include it as a part of my text formula field. Do you know how to make it display the user's name instead?

UserToName([User]) will work for a User field
