Formula to combine subtotals for one type

Report displayed as below -

(Field 1) Stage               Field 2) Type              (Field 3) Subtotal
Temp Services              Material                       $500
Temp Services              Labour                         $100
Power                             Material                       $200
Power                             Labour                         
Cable                              Material                      $100
Cable                              Labour                         $200

What I need is a field that will -
1. Only show the stage once
2. Combine the subtotals for the stage

So the output would be -
(Field 1) Stage                            (Field 3) Subtotal
Temp Services                                     $600
Power                                                    $200                            
Cable                                                    $300

  • No problem, the report type you are currently using is called a table report. That is just a list of records.
    Make a brand new report but this time choose report type  Summary. It will let you configure which field(s) to total and it will let you group by the Stage.

    The report will allow users to drill down into the detail that makes up the totals. If you'd like you can show a count of the number of underlying records as part of the summary report.

      Hi Mark
      The report is fine, I need the fields so that I can pull the combined data into exact forms.  At the moment it is listing it like the report, itemised but yes I would like a summary as above if this can be done.

        Sorry but I don't have an answer for you. 

        I am not sure if you were talking about native Exact forms or the Exact Forms Plus Add On from Juiced.   But either way I don't have a great answer. 


        I don't think it can be done with the juiced add-on and while I'm not an expert on need of exact forms, I believe you can only use a table report configuration for the query there as well so I think that won't work either.

        grasping at straws a bit it might be possible to push a button on see an order, I will assume that these are some kind of customer order documents,  And put focus on the order. Then you would have summary fields that would summarize back up to the table where the stage is come from to put the summary totals up there and then the exact form would be generated off that summary table. 


        But I think they would take some one on one consulting to try to coax that to work.
